A battle between ants and ladybirds ends when a whirling worm teaches them to listen.
The ants and ladybugs are preparing for war. The ants blame the ladybugs for eating their building materials. The ladybugs blame the ants for blocking out the sun. But deep beneath the chaos, without eyes or limbs, Walt the worm feels the vibrations of conflict. Whirling into action, Walt shows both sides the profound power of listening and understanding. The Wonder of Walt is a thoughtful, vividly illustrated fable about empathy, peaceful conflict resolution, the beauty of being different, and the quiet wisdom of unlikely heroes.
Penny O’Loughlin lives in Melbourne, Australia, and is the mother of two vibrant and very busy boys. She studied Architecture and Landscape Architecture at Melbourne University and works as a Landscape Designer. Penny has always had a love of children’s books. When younger, Penny would visit the children's book section in bookstores, spending countless hours sitting, reading, and imagining. Penny's desire in her storytelling is to simplify life’s complexities into fable-like tales, to warm hearts and hit chords with both children and adults alike.
